Medicare Seniors and Older Privately Insured People Reporting Long Waits for Medical Checkups and Illness Visits by Specialty of Physician


Note: A growing proportion of Medicare seniors and the privately insured aged 50 to 64 report long waits for medical checkups and illness visits whether with a primary care physicians or with a specialist. However, a higher proportion of older Americans face delays seeing a specialist. Almost one half of people over age 50 must face a long wait for a checkup with a specialist and almost 3 out of 4 people experience a delay seeing a specialist for an illness appointment.
