Tynan received her masters degree in public health from the University of Michigan, School of Public Health, and her bachelors degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before joining the GAO in 2002, Tynan was a legislative assistant at the American Academy of Pediatrics.
"Anns background in policy-relevant qualitative and quantitative research will be a valuable asset to HSC," said Debra Draper, Ph.D., senior researcher and director of HSC site visits. HSC is a nonpartisan policy research organization funded principally by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
Tynans research has focused on the State Childrens Health Insurance Program
(SCHIP), geographic variation in health care expenditures, public health preparedness,
physician workforce issues, Medicare payment, Medicaid and other health policy
issues.
