Insurance Type of Persons 18-64 by Race/Ethnic Group

Working age African Americans and Latinos are less likely than non-Hispanic whites to have private health insurance. About 20 percent of blacks have public insurance such as Medicaid and Medicare and another 20 percent are uninsured. Well over a third of Latinos are uninsured.
